10 year old reelsin $2,000 rodeo prizeA 10-year-old Camden resident is $2,000richer after winning the grand prize at the52nd Annual Grand Strand Fishing Rodeoawards banquet. Charlie Nash III caught a22 lb. 7 oz. king mackerel back in September,which made him eligible for the grand prize.The fishing rodeo began April 1, 2006, andended Oct. 31, 2006. A total of 1,440 anglersfrom 16 states and Canada participated, withages ranging from 3 to 81.Over 75 people attended the banquet,including award recipients, sponsors andGrand Strand Fishing Rodeo committeemembers. Lyn Smith of Capt. Dick’s Marina,chairwoman of this year’s tournament,announced the winners. Trophies wereawarded for “Outstanding Catches” in severalcategories and divisions, and plaques wereawarded for the largest of species.As always, the $2,000 prize winner wasselected in a drawing.
