TheMobilityCenterThe Mobility Center <strong>of</strong>fers a completeline <strong>of</strong> medical equipment for homeuse including: manual and electricwheelchairs, lift chairs, bathroomaccessories, home oxygen therapy, walkers,scooters, vacation rental equipment,ramps, rehabilitation mobility products,plus other medical equipment and services.The Mobility Center’s goal is to providepatient-focused, provider-friendly,educational accreditation programs to helptheir company stay focused on best clinicalpractices, improve business operations,increase pr<strong>of</strong>essional self-respect, andgain community credibility for having adedication to quality patient services.The Mobility Center’s primary clienteleis the pediatric, elderly and the physicallychallenged population. They currentlyserve approximately 1,500 clients/ patientseach year, both residents and visitors.With 10 full-time employees, TheMobility Center’s pr<strong>of</strong>essionallycredentialed staff includes an emergencymedical technician (EMT), a specialistin respiratory education and sleepmedicine, and three manufacturer certifiedspecialists in the proper evaluation, set-up,placement and education <strong>of</strong> home medicalequipment, and seating and positioning <strong>of</strong>rehabilitation equipment.Locally owned, The Mobility Center’semployees have firsthand knowledge <strong>of</strong>the Grand Strand area and are availablefor sales, services, rentals, repairs anddeliveries. A majority <strong>of</strong> their products areMedicare/Medicaid reimbursable, meaningthat qualifying persons pay little or noout-<strong>of</strong>-pocket expenses. When I graduatedfrom college the job market was verys<strong>of</strong>t. Our country was in a recessionand involved in the Desert Storm War. Imoved to <strong>Myrtle</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> in 1992. Again,due to the recession, work was hard tocome by, so I worked a couple <strong>of</strong> jobsin the hospitality industry. I then wentinto sales <strong>of</strong> security alarm systems, gotmarried, and finally went into sales <strong>of</strong>home health care equipment where I havebeen ever since.
