Whenusing an AAC system, it is necessary to assess the client’s abilities and requirementsensuring they use the most appropriate AAC systems. Assessment via a family centredapproach (parents, sisters, brothers, peers or friends) and observation of your client in arange of settings can offer valuable insights to understand the unique needs of your client.Using AAC systems will not delay or impair natural speech development, especially withchildren.
