Audiologists at the Cleveland Clinic provide comprehensive hearing health care. They are all licensed
by the State of Ohio and have their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through
the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The Cleveland Clinic audiologists
specialize in diagnostic hearing evaluations and audiologic rehabilitation, including hearing aid
selection and fitting, tinnitus management, Baha TM pediatric evaluation and fitting, assistive listening
devices (ALDs), and group counseling and education for new hearing aid users. All services provided

Craig Newman, Ph.D., CCC-A
Section Head, Audiology
Dr. Newman completed his master’s degree in
Audiology at Bowling Green State University and his
doctoral degree at Case Western Reserve University.
He joined the staff at The Cleveland Clinic in 1994. In
addition to being Section Head of Audiology, Dr.
Newman is Co-Director of both the Auditory
Research Lab and Tinnitus Management Clinic. He is
also a professor in the Department of Surgery for The
Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case
Western Reserve University.
Dr. Newman’s clinical interests include auditory
electrophysiology, audiologic rehabilitation, hearing
aid fittings, and tinnitus management. In addition to
seeing patients in clinic, Dr. Newman regularly
participates in research, publishes journal articles as
well as chapters in educational texts, and served on
the Board of Directors of the American Academy of
Audiology.
Janet Fraser, M.A., CCC-A
Senior Audiologist
Mrs. Fraser completed her master’s degree in
Audiology at Cleveland State University. She
completed a traineeship at the VA, worked in private
practice and at Cleveland Hearing and Speech
Center prior to joining the audiology staff at The
Cleveland Clinic in 1989. Mrs. Fraser’s clinical
interests include adult hearing testing, adult hearing
aid fittings and aural rehabilitation. In addition, she
coordinates and supervises hearing tests for hospital
inpatients as well as audiologic equipment
calibrations.
Allison Ziska, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Ziska completed her Doctor of Audiology
degree through the Northeast Ohio Au.D.
Consortium. After completing a one year
externship, she joined the audiology staff in 2007.
Dr. Ziska’s clinical interests include pediatric and
adult hearing testing and hearing aid fitting,
auditory electrophysiology, audiologic
rehabilitation, pediatric Baha pediatric fitting, and
newborn hearing testing. In addition to seeing
patients in clinic, Dr. Ziska also performs newborn
hearing screenings on infants in the neonatal
intensive care unit.
Sharon Sandridge, Ph.D., CCC-A
Director, Clinical Audiology Services
Dr. Sandridge completed her master’s degree in
Audiology at the University of Akron and her doctoral
degree at the University of Florida. She joined the
staff at The Cleveland Clinic in 1995. She is also Co-
Director of both the Auditory Research Lab and
Tinnitus Management Clinic.
Dr. Sandridge’s clinical interests include auditory
electrophysiology, newborn testing, audiologic
rehabilitation, hearing aid fittings, assistive listening
devices, and tinnitus management. She actively
publishes and presents in these areas. Dr.
Sandridge also oversees all aspects of student
education.
Lisa Oswald, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Oswald completed her Doctor of Audiology
degree at the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium.
She completed her fellowship year at the Dayton
Institute of Hearing and Balance. Dr. Oswald
joined the Cleveland Clinic audiology staff as a
research fellow in 2004, and joined the clinical
staff in 2007. Her clinical interests include adult
hearing testing, adult hearing aid fittings, auditory
electrophysiology and audiologic rehabilitation.
Additionally, Dr. Oswald is an associate lecturer in
the Department of Speech-Language Pathology
and Audiology at the University of Akron.
Lea Georgantas, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Georgantas completed her master's degree
in Audiology at Syracuse University and her
Doctor of Audiology degree at Arizona School of
Health Sciences. She completed her clinical
fellowship year at Beverly Hospital in the greater
Boston area. Dr. Georgantas joined the
Cleveland Clinic audiology staff in 2008. Her
clinical interests include pediatric and adult
hearing testing and hearing aid fittings, newborn
hearing testing, assistive listening devices, and
auditory electrophysiology.

Hearing Implant Program - Hillcrest
Comprehensive hearing care is provided to patients of all ages. Services include diagnostic hearing
evaluations including newborn hearing testing, hearing aid selection and fitting including assistive
listening device (ALDs), noise protection and custom earmolds. The Hearing Implant Program (HIP)
offers evaluations to determine candidacy for cochlear implants (CIs), and programming (MAPping) of
the devices to patients of all ages. Additional services of the HIP program include communication
assessments of children who are deaf or hard of hearing, school observations/ consultations, auditory
verbal therapy and other audiologic (re)habilitation/therapies. All audiologists are licensed by the
State of Ohio and have their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through the

Donald M. Goldberg, Ph.D.,
CCC-SLP/A. LSLS Cert. AVT
Co-Chair – Hearing Implant Program
Dr. Goldberg completed his master’s degree in speechlanguage
pathology in 1979 and his doctoral degree in
audiology in 1985 from the University of Florida. He is
dually certified in speech-language pathology and
audiology. Dr. Goldberg is also a Listening for Spoken
Language Specialist Certified Auditory-Verbal therapist
(LSLS Cert. AVT). Before joining the Cleveland Clinic in
2005, Dr. Goldberg was on the faculty at the College of
Wooster from 1996-2005 and worked in private practice
doing auditory-verbal therapy with children with severe
to profound hearing loss.
Dr. Goldberg’s clinical interests include cochlear
implants, auditory-verbal therapy, audiologic
(re)habilitation, communication assessment, pediatric
audiology, and educational audiology. He has an
active practice providing therapy services to infants,
children, and adults who are hearing impaired or deaf.
Kellie Tortorea, Au.D., CCC- A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Tortorea completed her master’s degree at the
University of Pittsburgh and her Doctor of Audiology
degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
She completed a one-year clinical fellowship at the
Cleveland Clinic before joining the audiology staff in
2001. Dr. Tortorea’s clinical interests include
pediatric and adult hearing testing and hearing aid
fitting, electrophysiologic assessment, audiologic
rehabilitation, Baha fittings in adults, OAEs and noise
protection. In addition to seeing patients in clinic, Dr.
Tortorea also administers newborn hearing
screenings at Hillcrest Hospital.
Nancy Adamson, M.A., CCC- A
Clinical Audiologist
Mrs. Adamson completed her master’s degree in
audiology at Cleveland State University. Prior to
joining the Cleveland Clinic in 2005, she worked at
a local private practice. Her clinical interests
include pediatric testing, newborn hearing testing
and auditory electrophysiology, pediatric and adult
hearing aids, and noise protection. In addition to
seeing patients in clinic, Mrs. Adamson is also the
coordinator of the universal newborn hearing
screening program at Hillcrest Hospital.
Michael Scott, Au.D., CCC-A
Cochlear Implant Audiologist
Dr. Scott received his master’s degree in deaf
education from Washington University in St.
Louis, Missouri and his Doctor of Audiology
degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D.
Consortium (NOAC), a joint program between
Kent State University, University of Akron, and the
Cleveland Clinic. His clinical interests include
cochlear implants, pediatric testing, and
audiologic rehabilitation for adults and audiologic
habilitation for children.
Rachel Bibler, Au.D., CCC-A
Cochlear Implant Audiologist
Dr. Bibler received her Doctor of Audiology
degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D.
Consortium (NOAC), a joint program between
Kent State University, University of Akron, and the
Cleveland Clinic. Her clinical interests include
cochlear implants, pediatric testing, and
audiologic habilitation and auditory-verbal therapy
for children.

Dr. Guzauskas completed her master’s degree at
Cleveland State University and her Doctor of
Audiology degree at Pennsylvania College of
Optometry. She has been an audiologist at the
Cleveland Clinic since 1995. Her clinical interests
include adult testing, pediatric testing, otoacoustic
emissions, audiologic rehabilitation, hearing aid

Karen Burrows, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Burrows completed her master’s degree at Kent
State University and her Doctor of Audiology degree
at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She has
been an audiologist at the Cleveland Clinic since
1998. Her clinical interests include hearing
evaluations for pediatric to geriatric patients including
otoacoustic emissions, audiologic rehabilitation,
hearing aid fitting, noise protection and custom
earmolds.

Sharon Jones, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Jones completed her master’s degree at the
University of Akron and her Doctor of Audiology
degree at the Arizona School of Health Sciences.
She has been an audiologist at the Cleveland Clinic
since 2002. Her clinical interests include
comprehensive hearing testing for adults and
children (age 6 months & up), hearing aid evaluations
and hearing aid fittings of adults. She enjoys
participating in the Cleveland Clinic Health Talk
series and has done presentations about hearing
loss and hearing aids.
Cynthia Gensur, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Gensur completed her master’s degree in
Audiology at Purdue University and her Doctor of
Audiology degree at Arizona School of Health
Sciences. She completed her clinical fellowship
year at The Cleveland Clinic before joining the
audiology staff in 1980, and is an adjunct
professor for the Northeast Ohio Au.D.
Consortium. Dr. Gensur’s clinical interests
include comprehensive adult and pediatric
audiologic assessment, including behavioral tests,
conditioned play audiometry, visual reinforcement
audiometry, otoacoustic emission and immittance
as well as hearing aid evaluation and fitting on
adults and children of all ages.

Sheryl Booher, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Booher completed her master’s degree at
Cleveland State University and her Doctor of
Audiology at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
She has been an audiologist at the Cleveland Clinic
since 2002. Her clinical interests include adult and
pediatric hearing testing, hearing aid fitting, tinnitus,
noise protection, and audiologic rehabilitation. In
addition to clinical services, classes in living with
hearing loss are offered along with the publication of
quarterly newsletters and monthly seminars.

Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Messner completed his Doctor of Audiology
degree in 2007 at the Northeast Ohio Au.D.
Consortium through the University of Akron. He
joined the audiology staff at the Cleveland Clinic
that same year. His clinical interests include adult

Lorraine Lombardo, CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Lombardo completed her master's degree at Kent
State University and her Doctor of Audiology degree
at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She has
been an audiologist at the Cleveland Clinic since
1997. Her clinical interests include adult and
pediatric hearing testing, and hearing aid fitting.
Tina Anthony, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Anthony completed her master’s degree at The
University of Akron and her doctor of audiology
degree through the Northeast Ohio Au.D.
Consortium (NOAC), a joint program between Kent
State University, The University of Akron and
Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Anthony’s clinical interests
include pediatric and adult hearing testing, hearing
aid fittings, audiologic rehabilitation and custom
earmold fittings for musicians, hunters, and
swimmers and for anyone that works in noise.
In addition to clinical services Dr. Anthony provides
a monthly seminar, The Hearing Healthcare
Update, an informational session for patients who
are thinking about obtaining hearing aids or
assistive technologies. This seminar covers topics
such as hearing loss, hearing aid technology and
realistic expectations of hearing aid technology. A
quarterly newsletter is also mailed to all of her
patients.
Valerie Pavlovich Ruff, Au.D., CCC-A
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Pavlovich Ruff completed her master’s degree at
Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and her Doctor
of Audiology degree through the University of Florida
Distance Learning Program. She has been an audiologist
at the Cleveland Clinic since 1999. Her clinical interests
include adult and pediatric hearing testing, hearing aid
fitting, noise protection, custom specialty earmolds for cell
phones, musicians, hunters, and swimmers, and audiologic
rehabilitation.
