Audiologists at the <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> provide comprehensive hearing health care. They are all licensed<br />

by the State <strong>of</strong> Ohio <strong>and</strong> have their Certificate <strong>of</strong> <strong>Clinic</strong>al Competence in <strong>Audiology</strong> (CCC-A) through<br />

the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> audiologists<br />

specialize in diagnostic hearing evaluations <strong>and</strong> audiologic rehabilitation, including hearing aid<br />

selection <strong>and</strong> fitting, tinnitus management, Baha TM pediatric evaluation <strong>and</strong> fitting, assistive listening<br />

devices (ALDs), <strong>and</strong> group counseling <strong>and</strong> education for new hearing aid users. All services provided<br />

Craig Newman, Ph.D., CCC-A<br />

<strong>Section</strong> <strong>Head</strong>, <strong>Audiology</strong><br />

Dr. Newman completed his master’s degree in<br />

<strong>Audiology</strong> at Bowling Green State University <strong>and</strong> his<br />

doctoral degree at Case Western Reserve University.<br />

He joined the staff at The <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> in 1994. In<br />

addition to being <strong>Section</strong> <strong>Head</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong>, Dr.<br />

Newman is Co-Director <strong>of</strong> both the Auditory<br />

Research Lab <strong>and</strong> Tinnitus Management <strong>Clinic</strong>. He is<br />

also a pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Department <strong>of</strong> Surgery for The<br />

<strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> Lerner College <strong>of</strong> Medicine <strong>of</strong> Case<br />

Western Reserve University.<br />

Dr. Newman’s clinical interests include auditory<br />

electrophysiology, audiologic rehabilitation, hearing<br />

aid fittings, <strong>and</strong> tinnitus management. In addition to<br />

seeing patients in clinic, Dr. Newman regularly<br />

participates in research, publishes journal articles as<br />

well as chapters in educational texts, <strong>and</strong> served on<br />

the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors <strong>of</strong> the American Academy <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Audiology</strong>.<br />

Janet Fraser, M.A., CCC-A<br />

Senior Audiologist<br />

Mrs. Fraser completed her master’s degree in<br />

<strong>Audiology</strong> at <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> State University. She<br />

completed a traineeship at the VA, worked in private<br />

practice <strong>and</strong> at <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> Hearing <strong>and</strong> Speech<br />

Center prior to joining the audiology staff at The<br />

<strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> in 1989. Mrs. Fraser’s clinical<br />

interests include adult hearing testing, adult hearing<br />

aid fittings <strong>and</strong> aural rehabilitation. In addition, she<br />

coordinates <strong>and</strong> supervises hearing tests for hospital<br />

inpatients as well as audiologic equipment<br />

calibrations.<br />

Allison Ziska, Au.D., CCC-A<br />

<strong>Clinic</strong>al Audiologist<br />

Dr. Ziska completed her Doctor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong><br />

degree through the Northeast Ohio Au.D.<br />

Consortium. After completing a one year<br />

externship, she joined the audiology staff in 2007.<br />

Dr. Ziska’s clinical interests include pediatric <strong>and</strong><br />

adult hearing testing <strong>and</strong> hearing aid fitting,<br />

auditory electrophysiology, audiologic<br />

rehabilitation, pediatric Baha pediatric fitting, <strong>and</strong><br />

newborn hearing testing. In addition to seeing<br />

patients in clinic, Dr. Ziska also performs newborn<br />

hearing screenings on infants in the neonatal<br />

intensive care unit.<br />

Sharon S<strong>and</strong>ridge, Ph.D., CCC-A<br />

Director, <strong>Clinic</strong>al <strong>Audiology</strong> Services<br />

Dr. S<strong>and</strong>ridge completed her master’s degree in<br />

<strong>Audiology</strong> at the University <strong>of</strong> Akron <strong>and</strong> her doctoral<br />

degree at the University <strong>of</strong> Florida. She joined the<br />

staff at The <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> in 1995. She is also Co-<br />

Director <strong>of</strong> both the Auditory Research Lab <strong>and</strong><br />

Tinnitus Management <strong>Clinic</strong>.<br />

Dr. S<strong>and</strong>ridge’s clinical interests include auditory<br />

electrophysiology, newborn testing, audiologic<br />

rehabilitation, hearing aid fittings, assistive listening<br />

devices, <strong>and</strong> tinnitus management. She actively<br />

publishes <strong>and</strong> presents in these areas. Dr.<br />

S<strong>and</strong>ridge also oversees all aspects <strong>of</strong> student<br />

education.<br />

Lisa Oswald, Au.D., CCC-A<br />

<strong>Clinic</strong>al Audiologist<br />

Dr. Oswald completed her Doctor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong><br />

degree at the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium.<br />

She completed her fellowship year at the Dayton<br />

<strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> Hearing <strong>and</strong> Balance. Dr. Oswald<br />

joined the <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> audiology staff as a<br />

research fellow in 2004, <strong>and</strong> joined the clinical<br />

staff in 2007. Her clinical interests include adult<br />

hearing testing, adult hearing aid fittings, auditory<br />

electrophysiology <strong>and</strong> audiologic rehabilitation.<br />

Additionally, Dr. Oswald is an associate lecturer in<br />

the Department <strong>of</strong> Speech-Language Pathology<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong> at the University <strong>of</strong> Akron.<br />

Lea Georgantas, Au.D., CCC-A<br />

<strong>Clinic</strong>al Audiologist<br />

Dr. Georgantas completed her master's degree<br />

in <strong>Audiology</strong> at Syracuse University <strong>and</strong> her<br />

Doctor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong> degree at Arizona School <strong>of</strong><br />

Health Sciences. She completed her clinical<br />

fellowship year at Beverly Hospital in the greater<br />

Boston area. Dr. Georgantas joined the<br />

<strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> audiology staff in 2008. Her<br />

clinical interests include pediatric <strong>and</strong> adult<br />

hearing testing <strong>and</strong> hearing aid fittings, newborn<br />

hearing testing, assistive listening devices, <strong>and</strong><br />

auditory electrophysiology.


<strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong><br />

Hearing Implant Program - Hillcrest<br />

Comprehensive hearing care is provided to patients <strong>of</strong> all ages. Services include diagnostic hearing<br />

evaluations including newborn hearing testing, hearing aid selection <strong>and</strong> fitting including assistive<br />

listening device (ALDs), noise protection <strong>and</strong> custom earmolds. The Hearing Implant Program (HIP)<br />

<strong>of</strong>fers evaluations to determine c<strong>and</strong>idacy for cochlear implants (CIs), <strong>and</strong> programming (MAPping) <strong>of</strong><br />

the devices to patients <strong>of</strong> all ages. Additional services <strong>of</strong> the HIP program include communication<br />

assessments <strong>of</strong> children who are deaf or hard <strong>of</strong> hearing, school observations/ consultations, auditory<br />

verbal therapy <strong>and</strong> other audiologic (re)habilitation/therapies. All audiologists are licensed by the<br />

State <strong>of</strong> Ohio <strong>and</strong> have their Certificate <strong>of</strong> <strong>Clinic</strong>al Competence in <strong>Audiology</strong> (CCC-A) through the<br />

Donald M. Goldberg, Ph.D.,<br />

CCC-SLP/A. LSLS Cert. AVT<br />

Co-Chair – Hearing Implant Program<br />

Dr. Goldberg completed his master’s degree in speechlanguage<br />

pathology in 1979 <strong>and</strong> his doctoral degree in<br />

audiology in 1985 from the University <strong>of</strong> Florida. He is<br />

dually certified in speech-language pathology <strong>and</strong><br />

audiology. Dr. Goldberg is also a Listening for Spoken<br />

Language Specialist Certified Auditory-Verbal therapist<br />

(LSLS Cert. AVT). Before joining the <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> in<br />

2005, Dr. Goldberg was on the faculty at the College <strong>of</strong><br />

Wooster from 1996-2005 <strong>and</strong> worked in private practice<br />

doing auditory-verbal therapy with children with severe<br />

to pr<strong>of</strong>ound hearing loss.<br />

Dr. Goldberg’s clinical interests include cochlear<br />

implants, auditory-verbal therapy, audiologic<br />

(re)habilitation, communication assessment, pediatric<br />

audiology, <strong>and</strong> educational audiology. He has an<br />

active practice providing therapy services to infants,<br />

children, <strong>and</strong> adults who are hearing impaired or deaf.<br />

Kellie Tortorea, Au.D., CCC- A<br />

<strong>Clinic</strong>al Audiologist<br />

Dr. Tortorea completed her master’s degree at the<br />

University <strong>of</strong> Pittsburgh <strong>and</strong> her Doctor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong><br />

degree at the Pennsylvania College <strong>of</strong> Optometry.<br />

She completed a one-year clinical fellowship at the<br />

<strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> before joining the audiology staff in<br />

2001. Dr. Tortorea’s clinical interests include<br />

pediatric <strong>and</strong> adult hearing testing <strong>and</strong> hearing aid<br />

fitting, electrophysiologic assessment, audiologic<br />

rehabilitation, Baha fittings in adults, OAEs <strong>and</strong> noise<br />

protection. In addition to seeing patients in clinic, Dr.<br />

Tortorea also administers newborn hearing<br />

screenings at Hillcrest Hospital.<br />

Nancy Adamson, M.A., CCC- A<br />

<strong>Clinic</strong>al Audiologist<br />

Mrs. Adamson completed her master’s degree in<br />

audiology at <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> State University. Prior to<br />

joining the <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> in 2005, she worked at<br />

a local private practice. Her clinical interests<br />

include pediatric testing, newborn hearing testing<br />

<strong>and</strong> auditory electrophysiology, pediatric <strong>and</strong> adult<br />

hearing aids, <strong>and</strong> noise protection. In addition to<br />

seeing patients in clinic, Mrs. Adamson is also the<br />

coordinator <strong>of</strong> the universal newborn hearing<br />

screening program at Hillcrest Hospital.<br />

Michael Scott, Au.D., CCC-A<br />

Cochlear Implant Audiologist<br />

Dr. Scott received his master’s degree in deaf<br />

education from Washington University in St.<br />

Louis, Missouri <strong>and</strong> his Doctor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong><br />

degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D.<br />

Consortium (NOAC), a joint program between<br />

Kent State University, University <strong>of</strong> Akron, <strong>and</strong> the<br />

<strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong>. His clinical interests include<br />

In addition to clinical services Dr. Anthony provides<br />

assistive technologies. This seminar covers topics<br />

Dr. Pavlovich Ruff completed her master’s degree at<br />

Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri <strong>and</strong> her Doctor<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Audiology</strong> degree through the University <strong>of</strong> Florida<br />

Distance Learning Program. She has been an audiologist<br />

at the <strong>Clevel<strong>and</strong></strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> since 1999. Her clinical interests<br />
