Gifts That Pass Assets to Heirs —When you create a charitable leadtrust, the initial or “lead” interest ispaid out to Missouri State annuallyfor either a predetermined number ofyears or for the duration of your life.Thereafter, the assets of the lead trustare either returned to you or passedon to your children, grandchildren,or other loved ones. If the assets areto be returned to you, you receive anincome tax deduction when the trustis created.
