NEWSPRODUCTS20Pharos LaunchesNew Touch PanelControllerPharos Architectural Controls has announcedthe new Pharos Touch Panel Controller. TheTPC is an advanced, standalone, solid statelighting controller with an integrated 4.3"customizable touch screen, 512 channels ofeDMX output and vast interfacing potential allover a single PoE network connection.Main Features:• Realtime control of playback selection andlighting levels - gracefully transition betweenscenes, sequences, effects and pixelmappedmedia• Customizable touch screen user interface -create multiple pages of controls andconfigure their appearance and visualfeedback• Triggering and show control via touchscreen, learning IR sensor, temperaturesensor, ambient light sensor, proximitysensor, Ethernet, realtime and astronomicalclocks• Conveniently and intuitively programmedand simulated in Designer on a PC or Mac.Graphical user interface created in InterfaceEditor and all uploaded over Ethernet• One universe of eDMX output directly toKiNet, sACN, ArtNet and Pathport fixtures.Optional remote devices for DMX, DALI,linear timecode, audio, MIDI, serial ports,digital/analog inputs and relay ouptuts• Remote management and control viabuilt-in web server. Monitor, trigger andreprogram units remotely and securely overthe Internet using a web browser or PharosInstallation Manager• LPCs & TPCs seamlessly network togetherfor synchronized control on larger systemswith multiple controllers• Elegant wall mounting, solid state, instanton, lighting control solution• 5 year warrantyProgrammed in Pharos Designer, the TPC hasthe same advanced playback and showcontrol engine as the popular and awardwinning Pharos Lighting Playback Controllers.Over an Ethernet network it can interface withother Pharos controllers, button panels andremote devices. The companion InterfaceEditor application allows you to build themeduser interface pages, creating and organizingmultiple pages of buttons, sliders and colourpickers to suit the installation and customerneeds. The Pharos TPC has the same advancedplayback and show control engine as thePharos Lighting Playback ControllersThe wall-mounting design features a magneticoverlay within the plated bezel to produce amodern, streamlined design; a variety offinishes and overlays will be available. TheTPC is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) deviceand therefore requires just one cable to install. It controls networked eDMX fixtures, integrates with building managementsystems, serves web apps to mobile devicesand allows remote management over theInternet. Built-in environmental sensors canbe used to influence screen behaviour and astriggers for lighting events.Pharos product manager Liz Cecil says, "TheTPC is an exciting addition to our range ofcontrollers at a very competitive price. Withthe TPC we are delivering an elegant,fully-featured lighting controller, with anintegrated, capacitive touch screen - it will bea perfect solution both for smaller installationsand as a touch screen interface for largerPharos control systems."Essemtec DoublesSpeed and Accuracy:Scorpion AutomaticDispensing SystemEssemtec introduces the new Scorpionautomatic dispensing system in August 2011.The machine is built on the Paraqudamachine base, which enables highly accuratedispensing and performance of up to 100,000dots per hour. The machine can be equippedwith up to four different dispensing valves andis designed for flexible and productivedispensing in electronics manufacturing, LEDassembly and other industries.New machine base increases speed andaccuracy:The Scorpion can dispense up to 100,000dots per hour with an accuracy of ±25 μm(3σ). The exceptional performance is achieveddue to the new dispenser base, the Paraqudamachine platform. Its XY-portal is built on arobust mineral cast chassis that providesexcellent damping and smooth motion at highspeed. The H-Drive features precision linearmeasuring devices to guarantee highestaccuracy for demanding tasks. The XY-drive is so powerful that it can move upto four independent dispensing valvessimultaneously. This minimizes changeovertime between different applications and allowsmultiple media to be dispensed in one run.Twin dispensing:The Scorpion implements a Twin Dispensingmode for the production of high volumes. Twovalves can dispense simultaneously on twodifferent locations, the distance between thevalves is adjustable. Typical Twin Dispensingapplications include LED manufacturing andelectronics assembly with multiple printedpanels. When the distance between twopanels is constant, two jet valves can applyglue dots simultaneously. Twin Dispensingcan double throughput for such applications.Freedom of motion:The working range of the Scorpion is biggerthan most other dispensing systems. Thedispensable area is specified at 650 x 500mm (25.6 x 19.7”) for a standalone machineand 510x470 mm (20x18.5”) for inlinemachines. However, the working area can beused flexibly and can be equipped withEssemtec's new Scorpion automatic dispensingsystem for LED assembly, electronicsmanufacturing and other industriesIssue 27 2011© 2011 LUGER RESEARCH E.U.
