Carson City Carson Continuing City Classes Education ClassesClass Number Class Title Section Units Class Title Day Day Time Location InstructorMOTORCYCLE RIDER COURSES<strong>Western</strong> <strong>Nevada</strong> <strong>College</strong> offers Motorcycle Rider Courses in Carson City for riders of all skill levels. Classes are offered April through October and occasionally at other timesof the year. Visit www.campusce.net/wnc/ for class schedules and registration. For information, contact the Community Education office at 445-4268.Basic Rider CourseAimed at beginning riders, this program introduces students to motorcycle controls, motorcycle riding, basic maneuvers, street riding and traffic skills. All levels of experienceare welcome. Students must be at least 16 years of age with a class C or A license. It is strongly recommended that anyone who is 16 to 18 years old call the CommunityEducation office for the latest DMV regulations to obtain a class M endorsement. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent / guardian sign the Motorcycle SafetyFoundation Waiver form. Students MUST be able to ride a bicycle. Upon successful completion students will receive a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) completioncard to take to <strong>Nevada</strong> DMV to request /obtain a class M (motorcycle) endorsement on their current <strong>Nevada</strong> license. The motorcycle and helmet are provided. Classesuse 250CC Honda - Knight Hawk, Rebels and / or Suzukis. Required riding attire includes boots or shoes that cover the ankles, long pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket, fullfingeredriding gloves and eye wear protection. No exceptions. Fee: $100Experienced Rider CourseThis course is designed for the experienced rider who has a Class M license and wants to refresh his/her skills, needs assistance matching skills to a new motorcycle, hasbeen riding without a Class M and/or is relocating from another state with a Class M that did not transfer to a <strong>Nevada</strong> license. This is a one day, condensed version of theBasic Rider Course Class. This is a Motorcycle Safety Foundation class taught through <strong>Western</strong> <strong>Nevada</strong> <strong>College</strong>. The student MUST provide own motorcycle with proof ofcurrent <strong>Nevada</strong> registration and insurance, a DOT approved helmet, and be dressed to ride - boots or shoes that cover the ankles, long pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket,full-fingered gloves and eye wear protection (a full-face shield is excepted as eye wear protection). No exceptions. Fee: $60Advanced Rider CourseThis course is designed for riders with real-road time and mileage on a motorcycle. This one-day course covers self-assessment, risk management, rider behavior, advancedcornering techniques, braking, throttle operation, riding posture, body position, tire traction, swerving, avoiding traps, traffic kill zones, and emergency stops. Working insmall groups, students will learn how to create riding strategies with plenty of emphasis on the special skills and mental attitude necessary for dealing with traffic. Studentmust possess a valid motorcycle license and have recent riding experience. Students must provide own street legal motorcycle, proof of insurance, registration, and bedressed to ride, boots or shoes that cover the ankles, long pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket, full fingered gloves, DOT approved helmet, and eye protection if there is no faceshield on the helmet.
