4.8 Re-checking of Answer ScriptsIf you have appeared in one of the Public Examinations and you are notsatisfied with your result, NIOS provides you an opportunity for recheckingof your answer scripts in which re-totaling of marks is doneand it is also ensured that no question is left unevaluated. Rememberthat the answers are not re-evaluated during re-checking. You mayapply for re-checking of the Answer Script in any subject within 30days from the date of declaration of results. Apply to the Regional Directorof the concerned Regional Centre, NIOS on a plain paper or in theprescribed proforma for re-checking of the Answer Script (which canbe downloaded from the NIOS website). You have to pay the22 : National Institute of Open SchoolingNOTEOn re-checking and reevaluation,the revised(increased or decreased)marks will be final andbinding on the learner(s)applying for re-checking/reevaluation.prescribed fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) per subject to the NIOS through Bank Draftdrawn in favour of the Secretary, NIOS, payable at the concerned Regional Centre. The re-checking willbe completed within 45 days of the receipt of your application. However, the Answer Script(s) will not beshown to you or any one else on your behalf under any circumstances.4.8.1 Re-evaluation of Answer Script at Senior Secondary levelFor re-evaluation of Answer Scripts at Senior Secondary level, you may apply for Re-evaluation of theAnswer Script in any subject within 15 days from the date of declaration of the NIOS Public Examinationsresults. Apply to the Regional Director of the concerned Regional Centre, NIOS on a plain paper or in theprescribed proforma for Re-evaluation of the Answer Script (which can be downloaded from the NIOSwebsite). You have to pay the prescribed fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) per subject tothe NIOS through Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, NIOS, payable at the concerned RegionalCentre. The Re-evaluation will be completed within 45 days of the receipt of your application.For re-evaluation of Answer Scripts for ODES at Senior Secondary level, you may apply for Reevaluationof the Answer Script in any subject within 15 days from the date of declaration of the NIOSODES Examinations results. Apply to the Regional Director of the concerned Regional Centre, NIOS ona plain paper or in the prescribed proforma for Re-evaluation of the Answer Script (which can be downloadedfrom the NIOS website). For re-evaluation of ODES Answer Scripts at Senior Secondary level,you have to pay the prescribed fee of Rs. 700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred only) per subject to theNIOS through Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, NIOS, payable at the concerned RegionalCentre. The Re-evaluation will be completed within 45 days of the receipt of your application.4.9 Unfair MeansIn case of use of unfair means in the examination, your examination will be cancelled and you could befurther debarred from appearing in the future examinations. Even your admission can also be cancelled.Instructions regarding unfair means are printed on the second page of the Examination Answer Books.You should read the same carefully.4.10 Standard of Education and RecognitionNIOS maintains a high standard of education and this has been recognised by various State Boards ofSecondary Education. Its Senior Secondary Certificate is recognised by the Association of Indian Universitiesand individually by several Universities all over the country for admission to Colleges and Universities. A list ofBoards and Universities which have recognised the NIOS courses is given in Appendices ‘A’ and ‘B’respectively.4.11 Procedure for correction in the Admission records• The admission to a particular course is normally confirmed by NIOS by issuing an Identity Cardhaving details of learner's admission particulars as per the record available in NIOS.
