The policy is directed at home owners, social housingproviders and developers and includes planning incentives and complyingdevelopment provisions to increase the amount and diversity of affordable housing inNSW.The SEPP also updates the arrangements governing the supply and retention of lowcost rental accommodation in New South Wales. The policy prevails over all otherenvironmental planning instruments to the extent of any inconsistency.The SEPP is in three parts:Part 1 – Preliminary provisionsPart 2 – New affordable rental housingPart 3 – Retention of existing affordable rental housingThe SEPP contains similar provisions to State Environmental Planning Policy No.10– Retention of Low Cost Rental Accommodation (which has now been repealed).
