Honor Roll of Donors

What a year of “celebrations!” 

It seems hard for me to believe that only a little more 

than 12 months have passed since I joined the team 

here at the Brethren Home Foundation. I have 

enjoyed meeting and spending time with many of you 

over these past months. And with all that has 

happened on our campus lately, we’ve had plenty of 

opportunities to celebrate! 

Some may say that we’ve had a yearlong birthday 

party here at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren 

Home Community. As 2008 marks the 100th 

anniversary of our organization we are finding many 

ways to mark the milestones and celebrate our 

accomplishments. Last October we broke ground on 

the Harvey S. Kline Wellness Center, and now we 

are eagerly looking forward to a spring 2009 grand 

opening. Well over $2 million of the $4 million goal

for construction and endowment has been pledged. 

In the fall we also celebrated the 25th annual Founders Club Dinner in York with 

speaker/artist Eva Self. In May we celebrated the lives and legacies of our loved 

ones through a stunning Monarch Butterfly release. The spring also brought Jon and 

Kate Gosselin of The Learning Channel’s “Jon and Kate Plus 8” to speak as the 

inaugural “Good Samaritan Speaker Series” guests. 

Throughout this donor report we “celebrate” the many individuals, corporations and 

groups who generously supported the foundation in the last fiscal year (July 1, 2007 

– June 30, 2008.) Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community team 

appreciates the generosity of the more than 1,100 donors who made the 2007-08 

fiscal year a success. These gifts, regardless of their individual size, are truly a 

blessing and enable us to continue reflecting the Church of the Brethren value of 

compassionate service.

The Huntsdale Society 

One hundred years ago the congregations of the Southern Pennsylvania District Church of the Brethren created a special 

ministry to the elderly in South Central Pennsylvania by establishing a home for widows at Huntsdale near Carlisle. There 

have been many over the years whose initiative, perseverance and faith brought Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home 

Community to the place it is today. 

As we commemorate the founding of what was the Brethren’s Home in 1908, it is especially important that we recognize 

the individuals, congregations and others for whom Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community has been a 

philanthropic priority. The Huntsdale Society was established in 2003 for the purpose of recognizing this group of donors. 

We celebrate philanthropy by recognizing our Lifetime Huntsdale Associates – these friends are individuals, congregations, 

businesses and organizations whose cumulative total gifts over the years is $100,000 or more. In addition, we are deeply
