As fellow clergy spouses wereach out to you on your individual journey and remind you that you are not alone in your uniquerole.This handbook has been compiled by members of the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> UMC <strong>Clergy</strong> <strong>Spouse</strong> SupportNetwork Board. We discovered that it had been some time since a handbook to address many ofour common questions and needs had been organized. As society around us has changed, so hasthe face of the clergy spouse which may bring new challenges. Many spouses are professionalsworking at full or part time positions. Some clergy families live in traditional parsonages, whileothers live in their own homes. Also, we welcome an increased number of male clergy spouses.Other clergy spouses enter this new role as their spouse begins a second career.We embarked on an interesting process to provide a resource that may speak to many of thecommon, yet complex subjects that we may encounter as clergy spouses today. We hope that thisendeavor may be helpful to you. By keeping this resource available on-line, updates will beavailable. A hard copy is available by request.Our current <strong>Clergy</strong> <strong>Spouse</strong> Support Network (CSSN) Board at the time of this writing iscomprised of the following members: Kathy Bartel, Jean Busker, Anna Gilbert, Char Groves,Laura Ida, Margaret McKay, Bob Miller, and John Moffat. Nancy Hanaman is a foundingmember of the <strong>Clergy</strong> <strong>Spouse</strong> Support Network who contributed to the writing of the handbookand continues to believe in the importance of support for clergy spouses. We welcome yourcomments and feedback. We invite you to our annual workshop and retreat for all clergy spousesIt is held the first full weekend of October, at Lake Lucerne each year.
