As a result, earlier diseasedetection has contributed to increases in the numberof radical treatments and improvements in outcomes.Besides the growing elderly population that isexpected to increase the number of cancer cases,as radiation technology becomes safer and moreeffective, it will be prescribed more often, leading toan increased demand for therapy radiographers.AssessmentStudents will be assessed on the basis of completedassignments, examinations, workplace learning andprojects or other methods as outlined in specificsubject outlines.Career ProspectsGraduates of therapy radiography work in a rangeof healthcare settings including local, district,and regional clinics and hospitals or privateestablishments.Entry RequirementsGeneral Admissioni. Applicants who have appropriate passes inCore Mathematics, English Language, Chemistryand Physics plus Biology or Mathematics shall beadmitted directly into the first year (Level 100) ofthe 4-year undergraduate degree programmes.ii. Applicants who have completed Level 100Biological Science with a minimum CGPA of 2.0shall be admitted to the Second Year (Level 200)of the 4-year undergraduate degree programmes.Applicants with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 inBiomathematical Science (Chemistry option) maybe considered for admission into B.Sc in MedicalLaboratory Sciences at Level 200.iii. Applicants who satisfy the requirements foradmission, i.e. GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levelsor equivalent with the appropriate passes shall beadmitted directly into the second year (Level 200)of the 4-year undergraduate degree programmes.iv. A candidate with Bachelor’s degree in Biologicalor Physical Sciences from a recognisedUniversity may be considered for admission onthe recommendation of a special committeeappointed by the Dean. The special committeeshall vet transcript of the candidate as well ascourse contents of the <strong>degrees</strong>, with a view todetermining suitability of <strong>degrees</strong> of previoustraining and make appropriate recommendationsthat shall include the levels of admission, to theDean. Admissions under this section may besubject to such conditions as may be approved bythe Admissions Board.Other Admissionsi. Applicants in possession of the Diploma in MedicalLaboratory Technology (DMLT) awarded by theUniversity of Ghana with a minimum FGPA of 2.5(Grade B-) may be considered for admission toLevel 300 of the B.Sc (Medical Laboratory Science)degree programme. Applicants shall be requiredto attend a selection interview.ii. Applicants in possession of the 3-year postSecondary Certificate in Radiography and Medicallaboratory Technology may be considered foradmission to Level 200 of the B.Sc (DiagnosticRadiography/Therapy Radiography) andB.Sc (Medical Laboratory Sciences) degreeprogrammes, respectively.In addition, such Applicants MUST haveappropriate passes in five subjects includingEnglish Language, Science and Mathematics atGCE ‘O’ Level as well as passes in two sciencesubjects at GCE ‘A’ Level.iii. Applicants in possession of Higher NationalDiploma Laboratory Science or Diploma inLaboratory Science may be considered foradmission to Level 200 in Medical LaboratorySciences.iv.
