Release Notes v4.1 (August 2012)This topic details the new features that have been incorporated into version 4.0 of the Premier Employee Self Service(ESS) Application.This version of ESS must be installed immediately after installing the Premier Payroll version 4.0a update.Refer to the separate installation instructions for a step by step guide to installing this ESS update.New Functionality for EmployeesImproved Leave Cancellation OptionA new menu item, Cancel Posted Leave, has been added under the Leave menu for employees.When this item is selected, the Posted Leave Transactions screen will open, displaying a list of all leave transactions forthe employee in question. Requests that are still in workflow, have previously been cancelled or declined are not displayed.An employee can now initiate the leave cancellation process for a leave transaction by simply clicking on the Cancellink, which will then open the relevant Cancel Leave Request page, where additional comments can be added if necessaryand then the cancellation request submitted to workflow.Updated Functionality for EmployeesDirect Export of PayslipsWhen an employee opens the Payslips page, a list of all available payslips is displayed as normal. There is now a newoption to export a payslip directly to PDF, without having to first preview the payslip.Direct Export of IRP5sWhen an employee opens the IRP5s page, a list of all available IRP5s is displayed as normal. There is now a new optionto export a IRP5 directly to PDF, without having to first preview the IRP5.Updated Functionality for ApproversSorting of InboxThe Inbox view for approvers is now sorted by Submitted Date, showing the newest requests first.New Functionality at Administrator / System levelOnly allow PDF export of Payslips and IRP5sAn option now exists to only allow employees to export their Payslips and IRP5s to PDF and not view in the browser.This reduces the risk of employees printing their payslips directly from the browser to shared printers.This can be activated per payroll company, by clicking on Manage, Companies and then viewing the new tab - Payslipand IRP5 Security. Tick the "Only Allow PDF Export" option.- 1 -

Disable printing of Payslips and IRP5sAn option now exists to prevent employees from printing the PDF versions of their Payslips and IRP5. This reduces therisk of employees printing their payslips to shared printers.This can be activated per payroll company, by clicking on Manage, Companies and then viewing the new tab - Payslipand IRP5 Security. Tick the "Disable Printing of PDF" option.NOTE: If this option is selected, employees will not be able to print their Payslips and IRP5s at all !!Updated Functionality at Administrator / System levelSuspend All posting optionIn version 4.0, options were introduced to suspend posting of workflow items to payroll for each workflow type. Anadditional option has now been added, "Suspend Posting to All", which will select / deselect all options with one tick.This can be found on the Manage, Configure Website, Workflow tab.- 2 -
