It depends more onachieving a profoundly moving and shatteringinner impression of what this person—Jesus of Nazareth—had to suffer in orderto approach the Mystery of Golgotha andallow the Christ-Impulse to flow into earthlyevolution. By reawakening these feelingsand sensations of suffering in ourselves…we evoke a living impression of the Christ-Impulse. The more we succeed in relivingthe surging, weaving experiences of a beingsuch as Jesus of Nazareth, the more deeplywe delve into these mysteries.”—Rudolf SteinerPeter Selg, author of a deep and moving bookon this subject (see page 2), will lead the program.Other speakers, including Dr. IbrahimAbouleish, the Founder of Sekem Community(see page 27) in Egypt and Winner of theRight Livelihood Award, will take up variousthemes in relation to spiritual life in our time.Dr. Aboulish will speak on Islam and the FifthGospel from a Muslim perspective. What was the human experience of Jesus? What isthe meaning of the events as recounted in theGospels for the future of humanity and the Earth? Whatis the significance of Jesus Christ’s suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension at this time of global crisis? What does the descent of the Holy Spirit mean for ustoday? How can we experience Christ today? In whatsense and in what form does Christianity have a future?Continuing our exploration of the esoteric Christianitythat lies at the heart of Anthroposophy, our seminarthis year will focus on the implications of Rudolf Steiner’sspiritual research into what he called “The FifthGospel.” For him, this research and its results—whichfollowed his experience of and insight into Christ inthe etheric—were the most precious gift, closest to him,and of an almost unbearable intimacy. Long overlooked, what he was able to bring forth in these lectures givesthe clearest indication of how, for Rudolf Steiner, at thedeepest level, the Christ is to be encountered. The Fifth Gospel (still living in the akashic record andaccessible through the consciousness of those who witnessedit) contains the life experiences that preparedJesus, the one who became the Christ. Thus it revealsthe experiences that underlie and lead toward Christ’sministry and deeds. The events and pictures describedin this “Gospel” (which Steiner was only able to begin topenetrate and went no further with—probably becauseat the time his listeners were not able to respondadequately) differ from his other Christological insightsin that they are neither theoretical nor abstractly theological, but practical, affective, and existential, callingus, above all, to love: to the discovery and embodimentof the divine-cosmic Love, which is Christ, in all ourencounters.WaTch For The brochure and visiT our WebsiTe soon For more deTailsv i s i t s t e i n e r b o o k s . o r g z e m a i l m a r s h a @ s t e i n e r b o o k s . o r g z p h o n e 4 1 3 5 2 8 8 2 3 3 e x t . 2 0 3
