Chair Deeb explained that moments like this define the character andpr<strong>of</strong>essionalism <strong>of</strong> a police service. He also stated that it cannot always be left tothe police to manage people’s social conscience. He thanked the Chief and allmembers <strong>of</strong> the LPS for their efforts. The Board has received many emails andtelephone calls <strong>of</strong> support from the community and is more than proud <strong>of</strong> the<strong>London</strong> <strong>Police</strong> <strong>Service</strong> for the way in which they handled an extremelydangerous and volatile situation.3. Introduction <strong>of</strong> Addendum Items and New BusinessChair Deeb called for inclusion <strong>of</strong> a special presentation by Salvation Army SpecialEvents Coordinator, Mike Couture.Mr. Couture presented an award to Dana Harriss, the wife <strong>of</strong> late LPS InspectorRick Harriss who passed away suddenly more than one year ago. InspectorHarriss was an avid supporter <strong>of</strong> the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Drive andvolunteered many hours manning kettles and organizing LPS <strong>of</strong>ficers to volunteer.One year after her husband’s death, Dana organized a run/walk fundraiser whichmany LPS members participated in. Significant dollars were raised in the run andtoday, Mr. Couture thanked Dana for her husband’s significant and extensivecontribution to the Salvation Army and presented Dana with a plaque in herhusband’s memory.Chair Deeb also called for inclusion <strong>of</strong> an additional New Business Item for thePublic Agenda, raised by P.
