Apreliminary report on the typology of districts in Uttar Pradesh is under preparation.Research work on criteria for, demarcating of National boundaries is also underway in theCentre. In this connection a workshop was organised in January 1994 and a volume. ofpapers is being brought out in the journal "Seminar".Inter-Institutional CollaborationThe Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, Rome has funded a TCPProject, (No.TCP/IND/2254) for preparation of a Manual on Training in DecentralisedPlanning. Seven national level institutions, namely HCM Rajasthan Institute of PublicAdministration, Jaipur, National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, Institute ofManagement in Government, Trivandrum; State Planning Institute, Lucknow; Indian Instituteof Technology, Kharagpur; Centre for Development Studies and Activities, Pune; and schoolof Development Studies, Lucknow University are collaborating in this programme.
