About This ManualAbout This ManualThe purpose of this manual is to guide you through the installation of the 4Motion Macro Indoor, MacroOutdoor, and Micro Outdoor Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) and all their components.For general guidelines for the physical installation and inspection of a basic site, refer to the 4MotionInstallation Procedure Reference Guide.The manual includes the following chapters:• Chapter 1 - Introduction: Provides an overview of the 4Motion Macro Indoor, Macro Outdoor, andMicro Outdoor BTS components.• Chapter 2 - Safety and Precautions: Provides safety guidelines, ESD precautions and lightningprotection guidelines.• Chapter 3 - Planning the Installation Site: Provides guidelines for preparing the installation site,including guidelines on positioning the ODU, physical and environmental requirements, coolingrequirements, and electrical requirements. This chapter also lists the tools and materials required forinstallation.• Chapter 4 - Macro Indoor BTS Equipment Installation: Provides step-by-step instructions for installingthe Macro Indoor BTS and modules in a rack.• Chapter 5 - Macro Outdoor BTS Equipment Installation: Provides step-by-step instructions forinstalling the Macro Outdoor BTS equipment.• Chapter 6 - Micro Outdoor BTS Installation: Provides step-by-step instructions for installing the MicroOutdoor BTS.• Chapter 7 - AU-ODU Installation: Provides step-by-step instructions for installing the AU ODU(radio-heads) on a pole or tower.• Chapter 8 - IF Combiner Installation: Provides step-by-step instruction for installing the IF Combinerequipment for transmitting signals from two AUs to a single ODU in the same BTS.• Chapter 9 - Antenna Installation: Provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Antenna on apole or tower.• Chapter 10 - GPS Installation: Provides step-by-step instructions for installing the GPS.4Motion Installation Manualx
