Whoever abets the committing of mutiny by an officer, soldier, sailor, or airman in theArmy, Navy, or Air Force of the Republic or attempts to seduce any such officer, soldier,sailor, or airman from his allegiance or his duty, shall be punished with imprisonment ofeither description for a term which may extend to twenty years, and shall also be liable tofine.Abetment ofmutiny, if mutinyis committed inconsequencethereof.Abetment of anassault by asoldier, sailor, orairman on hissuperior officer,when in theexecution of hisoffice.Abetment of suchassault, if theassault iscommitted.Abetment of thedesertion of asoldier. sailor, orairman.Harbouring adeserter.Deserterconcealed onboard merchantvessel thoughnegligence ofmaster.129. Whoever abets the committing of mutiny by an officer, soldier, sailor, or airman in theArmy, Navy, or Air Force of the Republic shall, if mutiny be committed in consequence ofthat abetment, be punished with death or imprisonment of either description for a termwhich may extend to twenty years, and shall also be liable to fine.130. Whoever abets an assault by an officer, soldier, sailor, or airman in the Army, Navy,or Air Force of the Republic, on any superior officer being in the execution of his office,shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend tothree years, and shall also be liable to fine.131. Whoever abets an assault by an officer, soldier, sailor, or airman in the Army, Navy,or Air Force of the Republic, on any superior officer being in the execution of his office,shall, if such assault be committed in consequence of that abetment, be punished withimprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shallalso be liable to fine.132. Whoever abets the desertion of any officer, soldier, sailor, or airman in the Army,Navy, or Air Force of the Republic shall be punished with imprisonment of either descriptionfor a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.133. Whoever, except as hereinafter excepted, knowing or having reason to believe thatan officer, soldier, sailor, or airman in the Army, Navy, or Air Force of the Republic hasdeserted, harbours such officer, soldier, sailor, or airman shall be punished withimprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, orwith both.ExceptionThis provision does not extend to the case in which the harbour isgiven by a wife to her husband.134.The master or person in charge of a merchant vessel on board of which any deserterfrom the Army, Navy, or Air Force of the Republic is concealed, shall, through ignorant ofsuch concealment, be liable to a penalty not exceeding five hundred rupees, if he mighthave known of such concealment but for some neglect of his duty as such master or personin charge, or but for some want of discipline on board of the vessel.http://www.lawnet.lk/process.php?st=2001Y1V19C&hword=''&path=5 (32 of 124)9/30/2008 2:10:37 PM
