Butte County Sheriff - Coroner’s OfficePenal Code§830.35(c)Coroners andDeputy Coroners;Peace Officers;LimitationsThe following persons are peace officers whose authority extends to any placein the state for the purpose of performing their primary duty or when makingan arrest pursuant to Section 836 as to any public offense with respect to whichthere is immediate danger to person or property, or of the escape of theperpetrator of that offense, or pursuant to Section 8597 or 8598 of theGovernment Code.Those peace officers may carry firearms only if authorized and under termsand conditions specified by their employing agency.(c) The coroner and deputy coroners, regularly employed and paid in thatcapacity, of a county, if the primary duty of the peace officer are those dutiesset forth in Sections 27469 and 27491 to 27491.4, inclusive, of theGovernment CodeCivil Code §1714.5 No disaster service worker who is performing disaster services ordered bylawful authority during a state of war emergency, a state of emergency, or alocal emergency, as such emergencies are defined in Section 8558 of theGovernment Code, shall be liable for civil damages on account of personalinjury to or death of any person or damage to property resulting from any actor omission in the line of duty, except one that is willful.§1766 In order to encourage local agencies and other organizations to train people inemergency medical services, no local agency, entity of state or localemergency medical services, no local private organization which sponsors,authorizes, supports, finances or supervises the training of people, ...inemergency medical services shall be liable for any civil damages alleged toBCS-CO Mass Fatality Plan 35July 2009 July 2009
