<strong>Butte</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Sheriff</strong> - Coroner’s <strong>Office</strong>• To provide information regarding health and safety threats when handlingdecedents• To identify decedent operational areas• To identify the stakeholders and organizations responsible formanagement and coordination of operational activities• To describe the method with which human remains will be recovered andidentified• To outline a method for the preserving and storing of human remains on atemporary basis when normal capacity has been exceeded• To detail local morgue capacity and operations• To delineate a method for assisting families during a mass fatality incident• To outline the process for obtaining death certificates and permits fordisposition of remains• To describe how the plan will be exercised, updated and maintainedC- Scope of the <strong>Plan</strong>The <strong>Butte</strong> <strong>County</strong> Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the Public HealthDepartment Emergency Operations Center (DOC) will be activated in responseto a mass fatality incident. They will oversee the coordination of the multiplelocal, regional, state and federal agencies and departments involved in themanagement of the incident. This plan will operate concurrent with otheremergency plans activated in response to the incident.
