Months of planning cametogether for just two days inSeptember when the BronteParsonage meadow once againwas the location for HaworthFairtrade group’secofestival FairIntents. The weatherforecast wasn’tlooking great butfortunately luck waswith us and it stayedfine for the duration.Saturday evening was blessed with a fullmoon shining from a cloudless skyassisting the solar fairy lights intransforming the landscape intoa magical musical venue for theCeilidh, add to that the local andFairtrade wine and beer, and acurry and there was a heady mixof pleasures of which the Brontes,certainly Patrick, would haveapproved.The attendance over the two days wasdouble that of last year’s event, attractingover 3000, and there were far morethings to see and do. Some were ratherunplanned, like the straw bale seating thatbecame at first a den and soon a mountainof straw that kept dozens of childrenhappy for the whole two days. Who needsa bouncy castle when they can make theirTo advertise call us on 01535 64222732own fun with such a natural resource tofeel, smell, throw themselves about incompletely safely.Adults had the opportunity to play withstone, or wood courtesy of Craven Collegeor try one of the many crafty things onoffer from local groups and individuals,whilst local talent entertained non stopin the marquee.
