the brain." The Vedas call it Brahmrendra.Perception, intuition and reasoningjust help to understand Reality to a certainextent-not beyond. You are understandingall this, you see, at the level ofthe intellect; but seeing is believing. Seeingwith one's own eye-the inner eyethatis an ingress we know little or nothingabout. This is what the Masters give.Nanak says, The blind know not thedoor, and Christ refers to it, Knock andit shall be opened unto you. And, Whoeverhears my voice, I will sup with himand he with me. So we will have to revertto the third eye, the latent eye orthe Shiv Netra within us. God said, Letthere be light. The result was what? There was light. Genesis says so! Andthis is the light that lighteth every manthat cometh into the world; that light isthe life of man. Such light is within you.lake heed that the light within you isnot darkness. All scriptures describe rays of Lightvibrating with the Music of Life; theygo hand in hand. The "Ringing Radiance,"you might say; the Ringing Radianceemanating from the formless AbsoluteExistence when It came to manifestthe world in its variegated colors andcountless shapes and forms. Places of pilgrimage, holy temples, they remind us that thereis something, there is some God; theysing praises there. Can we see God? Guru Nanak wasput this very blunt question; he said,"Yes, God is pervading everywhere."Masters say what they see; they don'tgive any reason for it, because they arecompetent to give a demonstration ofthat-and let you see. He is nearer toyou than your hands and limbs; the Hinduscriptures say, He is so near to you-Nothing in the world is nearer to you. Heis the very life of you. Kabir says, OnceI was in doubt, but really it is so; becausewhen my eye was open, I reallysaw Him-then all my delusions havegone, all my doubts have vanished. Isee Him everywhere. This is one function of the Master. We confound him with the teachers ofthe world, with due respect to them all,at whose feet we have learned something. But this is something which begmswhere all philosophies end; when yourcontact with the physical body and youroutgoing faculties are set aside. ShamasTabrez was asked, "What about God?"He said, "Don't believe unless you seeGod." you see. Masters also say, "Don'tbelieve in the words of the Master unlessyou can testify yourself that this is so."You must have something to start with;it may be little, or more. How much dependson each man's background, butyou must have something to start with.A man comes up and gives a very wonderfultalk on business principles. It isvery informative, but the poor fellows towhom the talk is given have no money tostart with! So all teachers promise to goon doing this, doing that-"you'll haveit after some time, you must be prepared, you must be ready, you'll get itSAT SANDESH
