If I hadn't always wanted to visit the UK, my prior eighteen monthswith the 1950th Comm at beautiful Wheelus AB, Tripoli, Libya alone would have madethe UK seem like Heaven. Extended another six months toward the end of my tour.3AF said no more extensions, so Col G went to South Ruislip and got me another sixmonths then they cut me off in spite of my offering to re-up for an open-endedenlistment. Croughton was the ultimate assignment - check out my email address!!!I've been back to the UK TWENTY TIMES since 1967 and have visited the old basemost of those trips, being given a wonderful reception in spite of ongoing securityconcerns. (I guess I look harmless.)
