Welcome to the 2012 Reunion of the RAF Upper Heyford! We know you will have a great time renewing
friendships from the past and making new ‘old’ friends. Widows and family members are also welcome
to attend the reunion. Tucson is the ideal place for getting together and enjoying the unique sights of the
area.
The Riverpark Inn is a full service, AAA 3 diamond hotel in a resort-like setting located within walking
distance of the Tucson Convention Center, and the sightseeing, shopping and dining attractions, which
make it’s growing and vibrant desert community so unique. Guests of this beautiful hotel are invited to
enjoy a free hotel breakfast buffet each morning. Be sure to call the hotel directly for your

Hotel reservations must be made prior to September 8, 2012 to guarantee space and rate.
Reservations made after this date will be on a space available basis and the discounted rate will not be
guaranteed. Rates are good 3 days before and 3 days after the reunion. We’re looking forward to seeing
you!
TRANSPORTATION:
The hotel does not provide any airport transportation but they do recommend using Arizona
Stagecoach. Arizona Stagecoach is an airport shuttle company that offers a one-way fare of $23 for 1
person and $28 for 2 people traveling together or $46 per person roundtrip. Keep in mind there is a
luggage fee after 2 bags per person. If you wish to use this transportation system please make
reservations over the phone with them at 520-889-1000 or visit their website for online booking and
more information at www.azstagecoach.com.
Cancellation Refund Policy: Complete refunds will be sent 30 days before the reunion minus $17 of
the registration fee per person. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER September 8, 2012. All
tours must achieve the minimum (35) number in order to complete the tour. Gratuities for the driver and
guide are at the discretion of those on the bus. We need all attendees to understand that the cut off date
of September 8 th is primarily to assure the minimum number for tours. IT IS NOT A CUT OFF DATE
THAT MEANS YOU CAN NO LONGER SIGN UP FOR THE REUNION. Please be aware that if you
decide on-site that you want to take a tour, it will be based on space available on the coach.
The hospitality room will be open starting Monday afternoon and continuing throughout the reunion.

Tuesday, October 9
9:00 am - 3:00 pm Tour #1 - Davis-Monthan AFB / AMARG / Pima Air & Space Museum
Visit the base opened in 1940 and used to train crews for B-18s, B-24s, and B-29
Super Fortress bombers. At the end of the war the base usage came to a standstill
until 1946 when SAC bombardment groups came into being. After WWII, a storage
facility was established and currently more than 5,200 aircraft from all branches of
the services are stored there in a climate ideal for the maintenance of the aircraft.
You will explore aviation history at the museum - home of the largest privately
owned collection of historical aircraft in the country.

Wednesday, October 10
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Tour #2 - Tombstone
Travel to Tombstone for a trip back in time. This is a living museum that allows a
window to a turbulent wild west past. The heritage is well preserved in the original
1880 buildings and artifacts. During the 1880’s Tombstone was the fastest growing
city between St. Louis and San Francisco. Relive such dramatic events as O.K.
Corral and the Crystal Palace Saloon.
$76 includes transportation, guide, Boothill Graveyard, Historama
Presentation, O.K. Corral Show & lunch at the Longhorn Restaurant
Thursday, October 11
9:00 am - 12:00 pm Tour #3 - Downtown Historic Tour
Discover the origins of Tucson as established in the mid-1500’s including the Barrio
Historico, El Tiradito Shrine, El Presidio Neighborhood and other historical
locations. Also visit Old Town Artisans and 215-year-old Mission Xavier del Bac
which is still used for daily mass by Native Americans.
$48 includes transportation, guide, and admissions
