Throughoutthose years, over 85,000 young peoplehave benefited from the teaching andexample of what we believe to be themost wonderful faculty and staff anywhere.Accredited by the TransnationalAssociation of Christian Colleges andSchools, Bob Jones University is wellknown for its strong spiritual trainingand robust academic programs. Ourgraduates serve the Lord across allvocations.They are Christian workers, tradesmen,lawyers, doctors, teachers andbusiness executives. They are recognizedas having what it takes to excel ina turbulent world. They are in demandfor their vocational skills, their spiritualsteadfastness and their personalcharacter. They are prepared for whatevercircumstances they may meet inlife—whether those circumstances areprosperity or adversity, peace or war.The purpose of BJU’s founder, Dr.Bob Jones Sr., was “to make this universitya center of the highest academicstandards and Christian culture to whichcarefully chosen young people willcome from all parts of the world andreceive their training and from whichthese trained Christian leaders will goforth to render service to our Lord inall corners of the globe.” It is our beliefthat today’s Christian young personhas no better opportunity to learn howto make a living, and—more importantly—tolearn how to live, than in thisspecial place which God has preparedand maintained.Whatever the Biblesays is true.The University gives special emphasisto the Bible, church administration,missions, evangelism, pastoral training,theology, history, education, languages(both ancient and modern), literatureand fine arts—music, speech and drama.Every undergraduate student in theUniversity takes a course in the Divisionof Bible each semester. Bob JonesUniversity offers speech, music and artwithout additional cost above academictuition. We place great emphasis onpublic speaking, for we believe that aman or woman is not properly educateduntil he or she can stand on any platformand clearly and cogently addressan audience.
