Explanation of FeesApplication FeesA $45 application fee must accompany eachapplication for admission. After the records are processedand are complete, the applicant will be writtenregarding his acceptance. He will then be required topay a reservation fee of $250 within three weeks tohold his reservation. Neither the application fee northe reservation fee is refundable unless BJU cancelsthe student’s reservation. In this case, only the $250 isrefunded.Late Change FeeAnyone who cancels his reservation, changes hishousing status, or applies for enrollment or reenrollmentless that 12 days prior to the beginning of classesfor the semester will be charged a $50 late changefee. For summer sessions this would be 10 days priorto the beginning of classes.Program feeThe program fee covers the use of the library, postoffice box rental, registration expenses, e-mail accessin the library and computer labs, computer networkaccess and laboratory, supply fees associated withmost courses and Concert, Opera and Drama Seriestickets for those taking six hours or more. The programfee will be billed at the beginning of eachsemester. All privileges covered by the program fee areforfeited if a student withdraws for any reason duringthe course of the school year.GraduationThe graduation fee includes the cost of the diplomaand the rental of academic regalia and are payablein full whether the candidate receives the degree inperson or in absentia. Diplomas for the May graduationare ordered from the engraver in February andAugust diplomas are ordered in June. If graduationplans are cancelled or changed after the diploma hasbe ordered, the student is charged for the unuseddiploma.Vehicle RegistrationStudents who bring an automobile or motorcycleto the campus must register their vehicle with theDepartment of Public Safety. Residence hall juniorsand seniors may park their cars on the campus forday-to-day use. Freshmen and sophomores must parktheir cars in a secured lot adjacent to the campus andmay use them only for extension ministries and tripshome.Health InsuranceThe <strong>University</strong> requires students to have basicmedical insurance coverage. Since many students donot have this, the <strong>University</strong> has negotiated a limitedpolicy that is available through Continental AmericanInsurance Company. This policy will be offered at asingle student annual rate of $600* for a 12-monthpolicy. Payments may be made in 8 equal installmentsbeginning Sept. 5th. For a married student, favorableadd-on rates are available if coverage is desired for thestudent’s family. The basic policy is written for a semiprivateroom rate of $500 per day. This rate covers 30days of hospitalization per illness.All students are required to take out this policyunless they already have insurance which is equal toor exceeds the policy offered by the <strong>University</strong>.Students whose own insurance meets or exceeds the<strong>University</strong>’s policy must submit evidence of their coveragebefore registration is complete. Failure to submitthe requested evidence will result in a charge tothe student’s account of the appropriate fee for the<strong>University</strong> insurance. This information must come tothe Business Office in addition to any medical formsrequired by Barge Hospital.* All rates are subject to change.Terms of PaymentThe semester charge for room, board, tuition andprogram fees are due on the following dates:Fall Semester—August 5Spring Semester—January 5If the entire amount charged is not paid therewill be a one percent finance charge added eachmonth to carry a balance. Payments will have to bemade per the schedule below.
