Once connected to the RS-232 port of theprojector, controllers can access projector controls <strong>and</strong> setups, issuecomm<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> receive replies.NOTE:The White, Blue, L6 -01,02 & -03 series <strong>and</strong> L8 -01 series must haveVersion 3.0 main software or higher in them to work with the extendedcommunications as outlined in this document.1.2 Connection To use Matrix 2500/3500, White, Blue, LX65/100/120, L6, L8, LU77 <strong>and</strong> LW40serial communications you must first connect the projector to a PC or controller.Using an RS232 Null Modem cable, connect the projector to the computer.Refer to Table 1 for Port Characteristics. 3 05/06/061.3 Messages The White, Blue, LX65/100/120, L6, L8, MX2500, MX3500, LU77 <strong>and</strong> LW40 havetwo types of comm<strong>and</strong>s: Control Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> Status Request Comm<strong>and</strong>s. Eachcomm<strong>and</strong> must be succeeded with a "CR" code, which is the equivalent to a carriagereturn. In hexadecimal the "CR" code is 0D.Note: All communications (comm<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> replies) are hexadecimal. Ensure you are sending hexadecimal.Comm<strong>and</strong>s are case sensitive. 15 05/06/061.4 Controlling Multiple <strong>Projector</strong>sYou can control multiple projectors using the RS232C loop-through output. By daisy chaining (connect the PC RS232 to theRS232 IN of one projector <strong>and</strong> then connect the RS232 OUT of that projector to the RS232 IN of another projector <strong>and</strong> so on),one PC can control multiple projectors.1. Setting the <strong>Projector</strong>’s AddressSet specific address number for each projector.1 Turn projector on.2 Enter the service mode.To enter the service mode, press the MENU <strong>and</strong> IMAGE button on the projector <strong>and</strong> hold for 2 seconds3 Change the service Group to 10 using the left/right arrow key on the projector or remote control. Change the No. to 3 bypressing the up/down arrows on the projector or remote control.4 Once set to 10-3, adjust the data to set the projector’s address number. (Adjust the Data by pressing the VOLUMEUP/DOWN button. Setting value must be different for each projector to control each one individually.5 Turn projector off, allow to cool <strong>and</strong> power back up for the new address to take effect.WARNING:Do not attempt to adjust any other items while in the service menu. Doing so could render the projector inoperable<strong>and</strong>/or unsafe.2.
