4.6.3 Arrival TimeThe arrival time also depends on the distance. The results for the different models are shown inFigure 37. The arrival time for the numerical investigations is defined by the arrival of the increasedpressure. The arrival time of Kingery is defined as the time from the initiation of the detonation tothe arrival of the pressure wave at this point. The arrival times for all calculations are higher thanthe experimental arrival times. Theresults of model SPHE9 represent the experimental results rather well. Discrepancies occur becauseafter a distance of 1.4 m the reflected wave at the boundary condition arrives before the positivepressure is ended. Also the conical model CON8 represents sufficiently the positive phase duration.The conical model with 1 kg TNT has a very small time t d . The scaling rule for t d is an issue to beclarified like for the time of arrival.49
