Ijoined <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong> 11 years ago. During<br />
this period I have gathered valuable experiences.<br />
I am happy to say that since I started my job I have<br />
rendered a genuine service to <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong><br />
and d<strong>one</strong> so with great pleasure.<br />
<strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong> is an important <strong>free</strong> edu -<br />
cation project in <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong> which serves our local<br />
children but also always supports others to develop<br />
their career through further <strong>education</strong>. There are<br />
more than 1,000 students studying at the school<br />
under different sections ranging from preschool, to<br />
computer, English, music and Tamil classes all the<br />
way to tailoring and other types of professional<br />
training. It is an excellent opport<strong>unit</strong>y for the students<br />
to improve their abilities and skills <strong>free</strong> of<br />
charge. The excitement and enthusiasm from the<br />
pupils are priceless – for many of them being involved<br />
in <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong> with its priority on<br />
the culture of our country is really a once in a lifetime<br />
opport<strong>unit</strong>y ,.<br />
Unfortunately <strong>one</strong> of our chief directors, Mr.<br />
Joseph Ortner, passed away in March 2009. Now<br />
our directress, Mrs. Kathrin Messner, is continuing<br />
the project. Throughout the years I saw very well<br />
how our directors worked for <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong><br />
and for its development. I highly appreciate their<br />
immense efforts, commitment and dedication. They<br />
were always behind the project and made important<br />
decisions to make it more sustainable and they<br />
never failed to look towards the future with optimism.<br />
My husband has worked at <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong>’s<br />
guesthouse, Bogenvillya, for more than 16<br />
years. My son is a student of <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong><br />
and my daughter will start her <strong>education</strong> at <strong>one</strong><br />
<strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong> next year. With this in mind <strong>one</strong><br />
<strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong> is like a part of my life.<br />
This year <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong> is celebrating its<br />
<strong>15</strong>th anniversary. I wish it good luck and I would<br />
like to take this opport<strong>unit</strong>y to say a BIG THANK<br />
YOU to all the directors, all the supporters and the<br />
entire staff of <strong>one</strong> <strong>world</strong> <strong>foundation</strong>. I am happy to<br />
say that through such projects “The planet could be<br />
in good hands”.
