The Okoboji Yacht Club Sailing School has been inexistence for over 40 years and we operate an exceptional junior sailingprogram. Our enrollment averages approximately 200-300 students per season,and our instructional fleet of boats includes: 9 Lasers, 15 Optimists, 10 VanguardPrams, 5 X-boats, and 6 motorboats. We have a state-of-the-art instructionalfacility located right on the lake with ample dock and beach space, as well as anexpansive lawn. We have 4800 sq. ft. of indoor space with two levels andpartitions allowing for multiple classrooms. There is instructor office space,<strong>com</strong>puter access, video equipment, etc.Our Learn to Sail classes currently account for the large majority of our annualenrollment, and we have in place the returning staff needed to maintain this partof our program for 2011.While our <strong>Racing</strong> classes account for a much smaller portion of our enrollment,our <strong>com</strong>mitment to this part of our overall program is still critical, and we are nowlooking for a <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Racing</strong> <strong>Instructor</strong>/<strong>Coach</strong> who can provide the dedication andenthusiastic leadership we need to take our <strong>Racing</strong> program to the next level.Applicants for this position should have extensive sailing knowledge at a<strong>com</strong>petitive level, previous coaching /instruction experience, and be US SailingLevel II certified. Some responsibilities of this position would include:


• Teaching all junior sailing racing classes, including, but not limited to:Optimists, Lasers, and X-boats.• Communicating and working with parents and junior sailors toencourage participation in regattas.• Providing coaching support for junior sailors attending regattas.• Potentially organizing and teaching short seminars for older clubsailors in Class C, MC, & Ynglings.As indicated, this is primarily a coaching position, and our goal is to allow you tofocus your time and energy in this area.Pay is negotiable and would be <strong>com</strong>mensurate with sailing skills and teachingexperience.
