Dinner at Christ
the King

On Christmas Day, after the
morning service we will gather
for a traditional Christmas
Dinner in our Undercroft.
If you don't have a big family
of your own, you are very
welcome to join us for turkey,
sweet potatoes, red cabbage
and all the trimmings together
with your church family
at Christ the King.
The idea to have a Christmas
Dinner for us expatriates
was born many years ago in
1999, when our beloved interim
priest Rev. Paul Fisk
and his wife Jean invited parishioners
over for a Christmas
Dinner at the Rectory.
As single mothers, my friend
Sandy and I thought this was
a brilliant idea, better than
celebrating separately and
each only with our boys for
c o m p a n y.
Shortly after this announcement,
Rev. Paul died unexpectedly
of a heart attack and
we all were in shock and grief.
Paul was such a lovely person,
a very good and close
friend to many of us, one of
those true saints, if you ever
met one. As Christmas was
fast approaching, Sandy and
I decided that, in spite of our
grief, we would do the Christmas
dinner anyway, fulfilling
Paul's wonderful idea.
On Christmas Day around
20 parishioners gathered
around the big table in the
Rectory and it was a good
thing to do so.
So come to the Christmas
Service on the 25th and join
us for the CtK family Christmas
dinner afterwards. Yo u
m a y b r i n g y o u r favorite Christmas
dish.
