The wheelis overhung on the shaft, i.e., mounted at the endof the shaft. The motor can be mounted in any ofthe four AMCA standard motor positions, W, X, Y, orZ. The two fan bearings are mounted on the bearingpedestal, out of the airstream. Arrangement 1fans are thus recommended for high temperature orcontaminated air applications. Belt driven configurationsoffer performance flexibility. If the performancerequirements change after the fan has been installed,it is simple and inexpensive to change the drive.Extended lubeline at inlet —standard on allArrangement 3fans.Arrangement 3SWSI — Single Width, Single InletArrangement 3 is available in belt driven only.Arrangement 3 SWSI has one bearing located in theairstream. The wheel is mounted between the bearingsand supported by the fan housing, which makesit a structurally sound, compact, and economicalarrangement.Arrangement 4SWSI — Single Width, Single InletArrangement 4 is available in direct drive only. The fanwheel is mounted directly on the motor shaft with themotor mounted on a pedestal. An Arrangement 4 designoffers low maintenance as there are no fan bearings,fan shaft or drive parts to maintain.
