Figure 7 above shows that the number <strong>of</strong> registered commercial employees was7.2 million (excluding more than 1 million workers in the Public sector) at the end <strong>of</strong> March 2011. This shows thatover 80% <strong>of</strong> the total workforce has been registered with the UIF. The number <strong>of</strong> registered commercial employeeshas shown an upward trend from April 2010 to March 2011, which shows that more <strong>and</strong> more employers arecomplying with the UI Act.13
