RHFSF was establishedto respond to U.S. and international demands f<strong>or</strong> modern, medium-to-high speed vessels f<strong>or</strong>critical maritime security missions. The Company is distinguished by 1) the depth of technicaland operational experience of its leadership team, and by 2) its unique approach to shipbuilding,which leverages these industry patents, proprietary processes and commercial technologies t<strong>or</strong>educe life-cycle costs and improve perf<strong>or</strong>mance.RHFSF is registered with the Department of State, the Small Business Administration, and islisted with Dunn and Bradstreet. It holds numerous marketing licenses f<strong>or</strong> overseas clients.RHFSF is currently under contract with the U.S. Navy <strong>Sea</strong> Systems Command to provide 60Meter Offsh<strong>or</strong>e Supp<strong>or</strong>t Vessels to the Government of Iraq. This contract is valued in excess of$70 Million. RHFSF also has a 145’ Offsh<strong>or</strong>e Patrol Vessel under construction.The PositionThe <strong>Engineer</strong> under the direction of the Project <strong>Engineer</strong> assists with all aspects of design,construction and analysis of vessel foundations, superstructure and perf<strong>or</strong>mance utilizingengineering principles; regulat<strong>or</strong>y requirements, rules and classification society guidance.The Rep<strong>or</strong>ting StructureThis position rep<strong>or</strong>ts to the Project <strong>Engineer</strong>.Essential Job FunctionsUnder the direction of the Project <strong>Engineer</strong> assist in the creation and analysis of complexarchitectural and engineering designs including ship hydrostatics, flow analysis, ship


compartmentation and configuration management, integration of advanced systems andtechnologies;Assist in weight analysis, met centric height calculations and control evaluation andmanagement;As requested, conduct research concerned with design, manufacture and test of platf<strong>or</strong>ms,structures, combats systems as well as engineering systems;Interface with intradepartmental personnel in a team environment to solicit objectiveviewpoints, fresh ideas, and best practices including key operational artisans and theleadership of the manufacturing group;With assistance, prepare documentation of complex architectural engineering designs.Provide input into the review, approval and c<strong>or</strong>rection of drawings and calculations toensure compliance with proper engineering techniques and specifications, classificationand regulat<strong>or</strong>y rules, and ensure adequate standards of safety are inc<strong>or</strong>p<strong>or</strong>ated;As assigned, assist with activities concerned with installation and operational test ofcomplex engineering designs to ensure conf<strong>or</strong>mance with functional specifications andcustomer requirements;Contribute to a positive and professional relationship with the client, subcontract<strong>or</strong>s,vend<strong>or</strong>s and the operating regions of the Company to ensure a high degree of cooperationto achieve the best possible results;Assist in evaluating operational systems and design modifications <strong>or</strong> changes in systemrequirements;Contribute to warranty and repair planning and documentation.Candidate QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, Experience and EducationThis is an entry level position requiring a BS degree in <strong>Naval</strong> <strong>Architect</strong>ure <strong>or</strong> <strong>Marine</strong><strong>Engineer</strong>ing;Ability to prepare clear and understandable engineering calculations and designdrawings;Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Design Software (Rhino), Microsoft Office applications,Microsoft Project Management and standard naval architecture software a plus;Experience with structural design, finite element analysis and/<strong>or</strong> <strong>Naval</strong> vessels a plus;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Experience with combat systems a plus.To ApplyPlease send a resume, cover letter and SALARY REQUIREMENTS (REQUIRED <strong>or</strong> applicationwill not be considered), with “<strong>Naval</strong> <strong>Architect</strong>” in subject line and email toJeanette.Anderson@RHFSF.com as soon as possible but no later than November 30, 2010.
