INDIVIDUAL TECHNIQUE AND TACTICSInternational Floorball FederationLevel 3.Though previous drills have some game likeness in them, the situations can be made even more realistic. The mainpoint is to create situations, usually one against one, butalso two against one etc. where ball protection and ballhandling are important. Often the easiest way to win thesesituations is a pass, however sometimes this is not possible. As said, creating game like drills also develops the player’sgame sense at the same time as technical skills are practiced.By dribbling, one does not score, but it enables theplayer to proceed to a scoring position by moving or simplywinning a one against one situation. It is also importantto be able to make such a decision whether to shoot, passor dribble. On this level this decision making is a part ofthe technical drill itself.Starting point-examplePassingdirectionsB1A1B1.and.B2.latefrom doublingB2Drill 37.Objective:••••to create a oneagainst two situationin the cornerto practice ballprotectionto practice fakesfor the defensiveplayers to practicedoubling, eitherin the offensive ordefensive zoneOrganisation:• players form threelines by the rink onthe middle line• two defensiveplayers (non-ballcarriers) and oneoffensive player(ball carrier)• one line with theballsExecution:• B1 passes the ballto the corner, or tothe goalkeeper whopasses the ball tothe corner• A1 runs after therelease ball andreaches it in thecorner• B1 and B2 startsright after A1 todouble A1• A1 tries to get outfrom the corner:1. if B1 and B2 havetime to double A1,A1 can either tryto protect the balland pass it frombetween the legsor to the sides toimaginary teammates2. if B1 and B2 arelate from doublingand A1 has timeto turn around, A1should try to challengeB1 and B2 bymaking a fake• the situation isplayed until B1 andB2 gets possessionof the ball or untilthe ball is clearedoutside the areaor when the coachwhistlesModifications:• the coach can alsopass a ball fromthe middle dot orthe ball can beshot first to thegoalkeeper whereafter the goalkeeperpasses the ballto the corner• the imaginaryteam mates can bereplaced by realplayers and thesituation can beplayed until a shot• in this case it hasto be determinedwhether A1 is onhis defensive oroffensive zone, and who is tryingto score and who istrying to clear thezoneKey points:• A1 should be encouragedto challengethe opponentif time for a fake• B1 and B2 shouldbe ready to doubleA1 at the righttime• A1 should be shownhow to protect theball correctly andB1 and B2 to tryto steal the ballcorrectly, shoulderagainst shoulder42◄Movi vng without ballMovi vng with ballOffef nsive player witha ballOpponent withouta ballPassingShootingOffef nsive playerWithout a ballCone
