Moneque came to Hartford from Jamaica at age 15, and faced culture shock,but she adjusted to many differences, including using English instead of her native Jamaican Patois.A mere three years later, she graduated as her school’s valedictorian. She also broke school recordsas a sprinter (and captain) of the track team. Moneque is focused and determined. She has a clearvision of doing missionary work in Africa after college and becoming a minister.
