She helped the team grow from a small group in her freshman year to a team of 50in her senior year. She was a member of the National Honor Society in 2012 and also found time tovolunteer at a Manchester elementary school as a teacher’s assistant.Kristen will pursue nursing at the University of South Carolina Upstate.W. Music therapy is an established health profession that usesmusic within a therapeutic setting to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of anindividual. An accomplished musician who plays the tuba and the piano, Marissa saw how herperformances positively affected her great grandmother and others in a nursing home setting, andhow it helped an autistic friend. Marissa is known as independent, fun-loving and spirited.
