It iscompatible to <strong>Dow</strong> Corning ®Neutral curing Constructionsealants.It is important when selectingcomponents within <strong>Panel</strong> <strong>Bonding</strong>Application to ensure adhesion andcompatibility by carrying outappropriate tests. Our <strong>Dow</strong> CorningLaboratory Service is ready toassist you.As a one-part neutral curingsystem, moisture vapor/humidity isrequired <strong>for</strong> cure. Substrates haveto be put together within the abovestated tack free time be<strong>for</strong>e skin<strong>for</strong>mation.Masking And ToolingAreas adjacent to joints may bemasked to ensure a neat sealantline. Do not allow masking tape totouch clean surfaces to which thesilicone sealant is to adhere.Tooling should be completed inone continuous stroke be<strong>for</strong>e skinbuilding. Masking tape should beremoved immediately after tooling.MAINTENANCENo maintenance is needed oncesealant has been properly appliedand cured. If glass units need to bereplaced or sealant becomesdamaged, sealant joint has to be cutback as much as possible.<strong>Dow</strong> Corning <strong>896</strong> <strong><strong>Panel</strong>Fix</strong> <strong>for</strong><strong>Panel</strong> <strong>Bonding</strong> will adhere to curedsilicone sealant which exhibits aclean knife-cut or abraded surface.EQUIPMENT CLEANINGOnce sealant is used in conjunctionwith a dispensing equipment,dispensing system needs to be airtightand moisture tight asotherwise sealant will start to cureover time. Normally there is nospecific cleaning required as it is aone-part silicone sealant. Materialwhich stays uncured in the nozzle,will start to cure.
