Theserechargeable Lithium cells are designed to have a ten-year lifeand outlast the life of the heat alarm. They provide up to sixmonths of heat alarm operation without mains power.The Ei164RC heat alarm gives a fire warning when thetemperature at the unit reaches 58 0 C. Heat alarms are designedfor use in kitchens and garages, where the use of optical orionisation alarms would lead to unwanted nuisance alarms.The Ei164RC also has Remote Control capability - allowing thedetector to be controlled remotely from a Control Switch(Ei1529RC). This then allows remote Test, Locate and Hushfunctions to be performed. If the Ei164RC is also interconnectedto other Ei ‘RC’ mains powered alarms, then the whole systemcan be controlled remotely. Up to twelve alarms can beinterconnected which will cause all alarms to sound when oneunit senses smoke/heat. A Manual Call Point (MCP401RC) isalso available.The Ei164RC is supplied with the Easi-fit base that allows veryquick and simple installation of the smoke alarm, combined withsimple detector head removal and replacement. The Easi-fitbase automatically connects both mains power and battery asthe detector head slides on.The Ei164RC has other advanced features such as built incircuitry to aid suppression of voltage transients and RFinterference to further reduce the chances of false alarms undersuch conditions.Operation• The green indicator will illuminate to show mains power ispresent• The red indicator will flash every 40 seconds to show thatthe detector has performed an automatic self test• The red indicator will flash rapidly to show an alarmcondition for the heat detector• The “Test/Hush” button will either silence false alarms (ifbriefly pressed) or perform a sensor test (if pressed andheld)• In “Test” mode the alarm will perform a test on the heatsensor and sound the horn• In “Hush” mode the alarm enters a ten-minute period ofreduced sensitivity to overcome false alarm conditions. Itwill then automatically reset itself• When interconnected to other Ei mains powered alarms, analarm on one detector will trigger all other interconnectedalarms (only the triggered alarm will flash a red indicator)• The heat alarm will emit a beep every 40 seconds toindicate that the battery back up is depleted and needsrechargingShannon Free Zone, Shannon, Co.
