Wedidn’t run our normalplays. We ran alot of misdirection.Those plays took alot of practice andtiming and therewas no penetrationin our backfield.”Bergan has nowwon Section 6championships infour differentdecades. He led theEagles to titles in1985, 1991, 2004and now 2012.“I think this oneis the most special,”he said. “Thoseother titles camewithin a period when we were consideredone of the premier small-school teams inWestern <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong>. We had winning seasonafter winning season.”Bergan says that this year’s team hadto grow into being a championship contender.“This group of kids was 2-6 two yearsin a row,” Bergan said. “They were 4-4last season. Now they are champions.”Junior QB Cam Wilson executed theoffense flawlessly and also tossed a 39-yard TD pass.“Cam was theone kid mainlyresponsible for howwell we played onoffense,” Bergansaid. “He threw aTD pass, he ran fora TD pass and hecaught a TD pass.He also led thesweep a few times.His fakes in thebackfield were madewith precision.”In the 2nd half,Wilson also got intothe act on defensewhen he cementedthe win with anPhoto by Mark AdairEllicottville junior Cam Wilson.DNinterception.“I really don’tknow what moreyou could ask of thekid,” Bergan said. “He had a great day.”Wilson has started at QB forEllicottville since he was a freshman.He is a leader,” Bergan said. “No onetalks out there but him.
