GIRLSCOUTSFor over 10 years local Girland Boy Scouts have turnedto the <strong>Museum</strong> as a sourcefor earning badges. In <strong>2011</strong>,312 scouts participated inthe <strong>Museum</strong>’s educationalprogramming.Girl Scout badges such at Local Lore and Listening to thePast are natural fits for the <strong>History</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> becausescouts are required to participate in local history byvisiting historical buildings and cemeteries, play gamesfrom the past and listen to community stories.In May local Girl Scouts attendeda day long Dog Camp and evenvisited the local animal shelter.Girl Scouts ona UniversityHill walkingtour. Behindthe scouts is thehistoric Norlinhome.HISTORYDETECTIVESAfter a tour of the museum and its exhibits students engage with historical artifacts, photographs,newspapers and clothing to delve deeper in to the history of <strong>Boulder</strong> and the region.7
