The BoulderHistory Museum hosted nine Boulder Conversationswith Extraordinary People programs in 2011 with over750 people in attendance. The 3rd annual series washeld once a month between September and May atthe Chautauqua Community House.Sonny Flowers & BHM’s CEO Nancy Geyer1968 Program SeriesThroughout the fall of 2011, in conjunctionwith the 1968 in America exhibit, the Museumco-hosted around town a series of 1968themed book discussions, laser light shows,movies, dance parties and speaker programs.Over 900 people attended these events. Theyincluded the ‘Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s’ laser lightshow, ‘Backstage Past: Talk & Book Signingby Barry Fey’ and a paneldiscussion on ‘Where wasBoulder in 1968? The Groovy,The Badge, The Drafted &The Radical.’History TalksThroughout the year the Museum offereda variety of programs in partnership withthe Carnegie Library for Local History.Subjects included ‘The Holubar Family &History of Mountaineering Gear inBoulder’ and ‘Around Nederland withKay Turnbaugh.’ More than 200 guestsattended these programs.
