Bamfield Garbage Disposal Service Area3. West Coast Landfill Service Area.With the implementation of this <strong>Plan</strong>, all of the ACRD’s solid waste management services will beoperated as one regional service area. This approach will evenly distribute costs and revenuesassociated with solid waste programs and infrastructure.10.3 <strong>Plan</strong> Monitoring And Evaluation10.3.1 <strong>Plan</strong> Monitoring CommitteeThe <strong>Plan</strong> Monitoring Committee will be monitoring the implementation on the <strong>Plan</strong> and reportdirectly to the Environmental Services Committee of the <strong>Regional</strong> Board. Committee members will:• Review and become familiar with the <strong>Solid</strong> <strong>Waste</strong> <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>;• Review and become familiar with the existing solid waste management system in the ACRD;• Identify methodologies to be employed in the monitoring and evaluation of the <strong>Plan</strong>’simplementation;• Monitor the implementation of the <strong>Plan</strong> and annually report to the Environmental ServicesCommittee on the effectiveness of the SWMP at achieving its objectives; and• Make recommendations to increase the effectiveness of the <strong>Plan</strong> or the solid wastemanagement system.The committee membership will strive to have a broad representation of interests including localgovernment, First Nations, the waste management industry, environmental organizations, thebusiness sector, the residential sector and senior governments. Additionally, selection of memberswill attempt to create a committee with a balance of representation geographically,demographically, and with a variety of interests and perspectives.In general there will be 3 meetings per year of the committee with the provision for additionalmeetings, workshops or other presentations at the committee’s discretion.(60717-DRF-RPT-07 Oct 04.doc) 10-4
