The CNVs provides isolation of the serialcommunication signal and conversion of the voltage level of the signal. The inputsignal level from PLC is +5 V RS-232C. Isolation is neccessary when the devicescommunicating through the line are fed from power sources at differing potentials.CNV2 gets power supply from PLC through communication cable and uses RTS/CTS handshakes. CNV4 accepts power supply either from PLC throughcommunication cable or from external power unit.
