CLOTHING12.1.7.1. The student will demonstrate a knowledge of the need forappropriate clothing including boots, helmet, gloves, flyingsuit etc. No scarves, jacket drawstrings, long hair.12.2. AERONAUTICAL EXPERIENCE12.2.1. The Aeronautical Experience shall be in accordance with the approvedsyllabus and shall include, but not limited, to the under mentioned:12.2.2. Instruments.12.2.2.1. The student will demonstrate the use of an altimeter(including the understanding and use of QNH settings) anda compass and will be able to demonstrate his knowledge ofthe circumstances in which these should be used.12.2.2.2. Applications, concepts and usage of GPS will be understood.12.2.3. Weather12.2.3.1. The pilot under training shall demonstrate a generalunderstanding of weather patterns and associated winddirection and strength.12.2.3.2. The pilot under training shall demonstrate anunderstanding of how weather systems affect flyingconditions. An understanding of the following shall bedemonstrated.12.2.3.2.1. Forecasts.12.2.3.2.2.
