JOB DESCRIPTION<strong>Job</strong> titleDepartmentReporting toWork location<strong>Job</strong> purposeCarpenter MultiMaintenanceContracts SupervisorYour location is variable as the nature of this job requires travel to any of ourproperties, this includes properties that we currently maintain, or on contracts wemay win in the future.To provide quality repair <strong>and</strong> maintenance works.Work activity will depend on location, but will normally fall into the categories ofvoid properties, general repair <strong>and</strong> maintenance, prior to paint or modernizations.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES• The general repair/maintenance of tenants <strong>and</strong> clients premises, both internal <strong>and</strong> external (i.e. first<strong>and</strong> second fix carpentry).• To be fully competent in all aspects of carpentry, joinery <strong>and</strong> ironmongery – hanging/re-hangingdoors, frames, window frames, roofing (including soffits <strong>and</strong> fascias), flooring <strong>and</strong> joists, kitchenunits, worktops, metal windows, garage doors etc.• To have a degree of competency in other trades including: -− Plastering <strong>and</strong> patching – patching works associated with lintels <strong>and</strong> soffits, reveals of windowopenings, door frame reveals, patching around floors etc.− Brickwork – patch small areas of brickwork/block work to facilitate plaster patching etc Floorscreed patching, vinyl floor tile repairs.− Plumbing – Redressing of lead works, drop radiators, take out sink units <strong>and</strong> re-fix items, removebaths/WC/pans to facilitate plastering.− Painting walls <strong>and</strong> ceilings.− Wall tiling – splash backs to kitchens, bathrooms, showers/over bath shower areas etc.− Clearance of rubbish/waste <strong>and</strong> final property clean.• To liaise with tenants to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss works etc.• To ensure works are carried out on time <strong>and</strong> to the customers’ reasonable satisfaction, <strong>and</strong> inaccordance with good professional practice.• To work with, <strong>and</strong> provide information relating to technical matters, to any group as directed by theContract Supervisor.• To liaise with other staff, Surveyors <strong>and</strong> Sub-contractors as necessary to ensure the timelycompletion of works within agreed operational targets.• To ensure accurate <strong>and</strong> timely completion of all paperwork including job tickets <strong>and</strong> timesheets <strong>and</strong>ensure this is passed to your Supervisor within agreed timescales.• To ensure that any required qualifications for your position remain valid <strong>and</strong> to ensure that anynecessary training is arranged <strong>and</strong> undertaken within the specified timescales.
