Nutrition Programme coverage informationThe number of children enrolled in the nearby therapeutic feeding program was only 3.78% and1.83% in Lowland and Mountainous zones, respectively. All the children suffering severe acutemalnutrition were subsequently referred to the nearby health centre with OTP. Currently, thereare no supplementary feeding programmes in Lahj governorate. The estimated coverage wasestimated as 0 % of children currently enrolled in SFP observed malnourished in need of SFP.This is seen as a gap in response needs.UNICEF has been supporting the MOPH to deliver static and mobile OTP programmes in Lahjgovernorate since December 2008. So far there is one TFC in Alhouta general hospital and 24OTP centres throughout the 15 districts. The therapeutic feeding programme in Lahjgovernorate was established at the end of 2008 with 16 OTP centres in 15 districts and scaledupto 23 OTP and 1 TFC in October 2011. Two UNICEF mobile nutrition teams (each consistingof Doctor and Nurse) were deployed in Lahj governorate in September 2010 and February 2011.They have the responsibility to treat and manage SAM cases through mobile OTP services aswell as delivering PHC. The third mobile team is expected to be deployed at the end of July2012. The UNICEF mobile teams mainly targeting the IDP located within the local communitiesof Althouta, Tuban, Almilah, Almiseymer and Tourulbaha districts.Save the Children provides PHC and Nutrition services to support outreach activities, using twoMobile Health Teams in Alhouta, Tuban, Almakatra, Kembeta. WHO provides PHC services inAlhouta and Tuban districts using two mobile teams. Lahj Health office, under CLP(Comprehensive Livelihood Programme), covers a wide range of interventions in parts of thegovernorate, from Reproductive Health and PHC services, to training of CHWs and TBAs usingtwo mobile teams. EU, under Reproductive Health Population Programme, delivers RH services45
