During that time many variations of the championshipwere played. In 1968 the event moved to the 16 team format where teams played in 4 groups with the winner ofeach group moving to a straight knockout championship. In 1973, again 4 groups existed, however each teamplayed a semi-modified knockout with the winner of each group playing a straight knockout championship. From1974 to 2000, the teams played a semi-modified knockout event. Manitoba’s 2010 Junior Men’s ChampionsDeer Lodge Curling Club(L-R) Skip-Alex Forrest, Third-Joey Witherspoon, Second-Connor Njegovan,Lead- Mike Neufeld, and Coach – Tom ClasperIn 2009-2010, the Championship was hosted by the Deer Lodge Curlinng Club. The AlexForrest team from the Deer Lodge Curling Club defeated the Michael Johnson team from theAssiniboine Memorial Curling Club, to win the Junior Men’s title. At the M&M Canadian JuniorChampionships the Forrest team finished with a record of 10-2 to clinch first place in the roundrobin and a bye to the final. They played Ontario in the final and were edged out by a score of 8-7.The 2010-2011 M&M Meat Shop Junior Men’s and Women’s Canadian Championship will beheld in Calgary, AB from January 29-February 5, 2011.
