What if I want to house a non-relative or sublease?A tenant wishing to accommodate someone outside of his or her immediatefamily must make prior arrangements with the Office of <strong>Student</strong> Services andpay an additional monthly charge of $25 per person. Single tenants will not beallowed to house members of the opposite sex.Suppose I want to leave my stuff in my house while I’m gone for the summer?<strong>Student</strong>s who leave for the summer with plans to return in the fall may retaintheir housing units if they continue paying monthly rent. Court Place residentsmust also arrange for yard care. During this temporary absence, apartmentsmay be sublet when appropriate arrangements are made with the Office of<strong>Student</strong> Services. If the proper arrangements are not made, subleasees maybe evicted.Is soliciting allowed?Soliciting, canvassing, and all forms of door-to-door selling are allowed inSFH only with a permit issued by the Office of <strong>Student</strong> Services. Unauthorizedpersons should be reported to either the <strong>Housing</strong> Coordinator or Office of<strong>Student</strong> Services.Does management retain the right of entry?Management reserves the right to enter units whenever deemed necessary.Such entry, as far as possible, will occur during regular business hours andwill be arranged in advance with the tenant. Emergency situations requireno advance notice.MATTERS OF MONEYDo I need to pay any deposits?Before moving in, residents must pay a cleaning/security deposit equal to onemonth’s rent. This deposit will be refunded when the unit is vacated, deemed leftin a normal wear-and-tear condition, and cleaned according to the moving outcleaning procedure.How do I pay my rent?Rent is billed either by applying the rental fee to the student’s accountwith <strong>Student</strong> Finance or through a Payroll deduction, in the case of collegeemployees. PUC reserves the right to terminate the license agreement whenresidents neglect to pay their rental fees. Tenants who become ineligible tocontinue living in SFH, have 3 days to leave.Tenants are responsible for covering the full apartment rent during the summermonths of July, August, and September.
