Because of the <strong>College</strong>’slimited disposal capacity, garbage disposals are not and cannot be installed.What appliances are allowed in SFH?Full-size washers and dryers are not permitted in SFH units.Portable dishwashers and dryers may be used, but tenants assume liability forany damages resulting from their use. The <strong>Housing</strong> Coordinator must approvethe venting arrangement for portable dryers.When prior arrangements have been made with the <strong>Housing</strong> Coordinator, airconditioners may be kept inside units.Electric ranges and refrigerators are to be kept clean. If additional cleaning isrequired at move-out time, an extra fee will be charged. Please do not use chemicalcleaners on ovens with self-cleaning features, as they destroy the feature.May I use a waterbed?Waterbeds will be permitted only if the following conditions are met:1. Tenant agrees to assume all liability for any potential damage to the unit,including major structural damage. Tenant must sign a special contract toguarantee this.2. A deposit equal to 50% of one month’s housing fee must be paid to protect the<strong>College</strong> against such possible damage. Any damage in excess of this depositwill be billed to the tenant.Do I have to keep my unit clean?Units are to be kept tidy. Tenants must maintain carpet and linoleum flooring asappropriate during residency.
